the mayans are predicting the end of the world in 2012? then i heard that nasa is keeping secrets from society that supposedly they know what is really going to happen and so does the government but they don’t want to say anything because they don’t want to cause panic on society. Me personally believe that no one really knows when the world will end but God. But these people claim they know everything….
i also heard that in 2012 during december 21 i think there will be darkness for 24hrs is that true?

The Mayans made no prediction about 2012. Their Long Count calendar rolls over on December 21st. it’s also the day of the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere. And that’s it.
Anything else you may hear about events on that date is baloney, invented by a bunch of crackpots. These people like to pretend that they have some ‘inside’ information which has been missed by mainstream science. All the better if they can claim that the government is trying to silence them. In reality, they are trying to scare people and make money from faked-up books and TV shows.
I can reveal that there will indeed be darkness for 24 hours on 21st December 2012 – at the north pole, as every year.

NASA is not keeping this secret. There is no *way* it could be kept secret, due simply to the sheer number of amateur astronomers with good equipment.

The “2012 doomsday” is a hoax. It’s a fraud. It’s a con job. It’s a cruel and cynical lie being promoted by unscrupulous pseudo-scientific cranks who have a monetary interest: They want to sell their books, videos, ‘survival kits’, and spaces in non-existent shelters in Antarctica. They also want to divert attention from the fact that they have been wrong so many times before. It’s also being pushed by people who are promoting a Hollywood disaster movie due out later this year.

The only ones for whom the world will end are those dumb enough to step out in front of a train or some such. The Mayans could only predict when to plant crops; that’s how all calendars started. Where did you hear the story about NASA and the Government? 24 hours of darkness? Happens for a lot longer than that every year in the high Arctic, so don’t let that faze you! The answer in short is that nothing untoward is likely to happen for several billion years, so you can sleep easy tonight.
No. In my opinion, the mayan calender had to end somewhere. I don’t know why, but maybe because the guy doing it just put down his tools, or died, or just couldn’t be ARSED anymore. The web bot is predicting the end of the world too, and my life doesn’t depend on a computer, no computer that man can make would be able to see into the future, i think all the predictions it has made are a bunch of big hoax’s. Don’t you think if there was a machine amazing enough to predict these things existed, we’d have tons of them around the world? Also, oracles in the past have predicted things to happen in 2012, but, how do we even know these oracles existed, I mean, it was about 3,000 years ago, wasn’t it? So, do we have proof on these oracles saying these things?
